Joshua Elbaum

I have a passion for helping people to free the creative voice, show up more fully to the work they do, and touch the simple joy of living in a body.

I graduated from the Boston Feldenkrais Training as a certified Awareness Through MovementĀ® and Functional Integration instructor. I also practice Taiji and Qi Gong and incorporate elements of these traditions in my work. I attended Berklee College of Music for my undergraduate education. As a musician and poet, I am uniquely attuned to the needs of creative people, and the connection between unlocking expression and freeing the body of limitation. I have taught movement classes through organizations such as freeskewl, Midday Movement, the Neponset River Clubhouse, among others.

I came to somatic work as a musician unable to play my instrument, with chronic pain that put a barrier between the world and myself. Through my relationship with the Feldenkrais MethodĀ®, I have not only healed from my injuries, I have illuminated the habits that held me back from intimacy, trapped me in the projections of society, and limited my imagination of what life could be.

As a practitioner, I am interested in you as a complete person, not just whatever issue is bringing you to my practice. I believe that every aspect of our personal experience is expressed through our movement and anything you bring to the space is welcome. I hope you will join me on a journey of self-discovery through movement, awareness, and beauty.
