Vincenza Freeborn, LICSW, CADAC

I have been a practicing clinician in New York for over 25 years and I am very excited to be expanding my practice to Northampton, MA.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from SUNY at New Paltz in 1989 and my Masters of Social Work Degree from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY in 1993.  In addition, I earned my New York State Certification as an Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor in 1995.

I offer a Humanistic approach while integrating various therapeutic modalities, such as, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based guidance, trauma informed care, strength based therapy, motivational interviewing and humor.  Within this framework, I have supported many people of diverse backgrounds with concerns surrounding;

Relationships, depression, anxiety, addictions/ recovery, ACOA, transgender issues, LGBTQ issues, elder support and wellness, trauma/ PTSD, life transitions, traumatic brain injury (TBI), grief and loss.

I bring compassion and empathy that I believe are essential in developing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship.  You have a life story that is important – we create a safe, warm, supportive space in which your story can be told and heard. While healing, your

self-determination is respected, you are empowered to meet your life challenges and embrace your best self.  It has been my experience, that when someone shares a piece of their pain, the room will absorb a bit, I will take a bit and they could leave with less pain.
