What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a non-invasive, integrative wellness modality based on the principle that specific reflex points and zones on the feet, hands, face, and ears correspond to organs, systems, and structures of the body. Through the application of focused, intentional pressure, reflexology is used to support relaxation, nervous system regulation, and homeostasis.

Within an integrative care model, reflexology is often utilized to support the parasympathetic nervous system, encouraging a shift away from patterned stress responses. By promoting a state of calm and safety, reflexology may help reduce physiologic stress and support the body’s inherent capacity for restoration and balance.

What Reflexology Is Not

Reflexology is not diagnostic and does not treat disease. Reflexology does not involve joint manipulation or musculoskeletal adjustment and is distinct from massage therapy, physical therapy, or chiropractic care.

What can I expect from a session? What do I need to do to

prepare for it?

Reflexology sessions are conducted with the client fully clothed, typically in a seated or reclined position. Treatment most often focuses on the feet, with optional inclusion of the hands, face, or ears. Pressure is applied using structured techniques and is adjusted to ensure comfort and safety.

Sessions emphasize nervous system support and relaxation. Clients may experience a sense of calm, improved sleep, reduced muscle tension, or enhanced overall well-being. Responses vary by individual, and benefits are often subtle and cumulative over time.

With the potential addition of various energy practices and vibrational sound healing techniques, the improvement in energy balance, circulation, and the body’s innate healing processes may be enhanced. Discussion and application of these additional techniques will be provided based on permission between client and practitioner.

Wearing comfortable, loose clothing such as leggings or thin sweat pants is recommended.

Preparation for each session will begin with setting of intentions for that day, week, or month. If choosing a multi-session package, you are encouraged to choose a  broader overall intention that can be built upon over the time frame selected.

Leslie Kelly offers reflexology at CLINIC Mondays 9am- 3pm and Wednesdays 9am- 1pm.
