What is Zen Shiatsu?

Zen Shiatsu is a unique form of bodywork that provides profound rebalancing your body’s energy. It is based on thousands of years of time tested understanding from a combination of Chinese and Japanese wisdom.  Shiatsu directly treats the meridian pathways within the body that channel Ki energy– our life essence. We experience this energy in the form of movement, communication, respiration, digestion, thoughts, feelings and spirituality. Any blockage or stagnation of energy within the meridians can result in physical, psychological and emotional disease. Zen Shiatsu helps you balance your energy on all levels, while experiencing a profoundly relaxing and clinically therapeutic musculoskeletal treatment.

What can I expect from a treatment?

Zen Shiatsu is a type of bodywork, like massage, but where you stay fully clothed and lie on a comfortable mat on the floor.  You will be effortlessly guided through a series of postures and stretches, with palming and finger pressing to open and release the pain and discomfort in your muscles and joints.

At CLINIC, Zen Shiatsu is offered by Emma Lee Mondays 9am- 3pm and Thursdays 3- 9pm, and Jennifer Nery Wednesdays at 9am and Sundays at 10:45am and 5pm, and otherwise by appointment.  See also massage therapy for more bodywork.
