What is Qigong?

Rooted in ancient Chinese traditions, Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a holistic practice that encompasses coordinated body movements, breath control, and meditation. The term itself combines "Qi," meaning vital energy, and "Gong," denoting skill cultivated through consistent practice. Qigong aims to balance and enhance the flow of Qi within the body, promoting overall health and well-being.

Why Practice Qigong?

People engage in Qigong for a multitude of reasons, drawn to its diverse benefits:

6. Trauma Release: Did you know that “Shaking Like A Tree” from Qigong is what animals do in the wild to release trauma after they get into a fight? We are mammals too and it works for us as well! Dr. Peter Levine wrote a book called “Waking The Tiger” all about the science of “Shaking” as an effective exercise to release trauma. Shaking Like A Tree is FUN! and available to us at any time when we’re triggered or in distress. It is incredibly empowering to have this tool in our lives to release stress and what’s stuck in our body.
